The Brothers and Sisters Express flag football team defeated the Ball Thugs (9-0) in the Mid East Sports Spring Championship game Saturday at Cardozo High School in Washington DC. Both teams represented the very best in the western division and in doing so; they put on a display of defensive might through-out the contest. In the 1st half the Ball Thugs produced several successful offensive drives into Brothers and Sisters territory but fail to capitalize. Due in part to the lock-down corners in the Brothers and Sisters secondary, lead by Dupree and Kerns. The Ball Thugs' well organized style of play and skillful players showed restraint and good sportsmanship during several controversial calls the final minutes of the 2nd half. The winning drive came late in the 2ndhalf thanks to a 45 yard reception by Dupree “Deuce” Lawrence. Dupree’s reception was the momentum the Brothers and Sisters needed to setup the winning score to clinch the championship. Congratulations to Brothers and Sister Express for outstanding team effort and execution towards winning the 2012 Spring Championship. Well done.
