In today’s health conscience society much emphasis has been placed on maintaining an active lifestyle.  To that end Flag football has gained noticeable popularity amongst those who love the game of football and are looking to stay active and fit.  This pursuit of a healthy activity has made way for the emergence of the Metropolitan Adult Co-ed Flag Football League.  Although, despite the recent surge in recruits and the growing fan following, Flag Football in the metro area is still one of the most under promoted sports in the DMV.

One of the organizations working to bring this sport to the forefront with the masses is Mid East Sports (MESports).  Founded in 2009 this organization has created and managed league play for local teams 3 years and counting.  Their professional approach to recruiting and their ability to attract competitive teams to their league has much to do with their unique rules and unparalleled ability to draw players with a wide variety of skills and talents.

One might say that this ethnically diverse league of men and women is unique in the sense that the majority of their players are industry professionals from public and private sectors, lawyers, teachers, police officers and even housewives.  The common thread that ties these various individuals together is the promise of competitive play, camaraderie and good sportsmanship.

With a well organized staff and good public relations personnel like Jamie Chambers, Mid East Sports has grown to averaging 16 teams in league play this season.

And according to Jamie "the biggest recruitment tool is word of mouth; a lot of the teams play in other leagues and they brag about Mid East Sports.  We use Facebook and Twitter and other websites to spread the word about our league".

If you love football and want a fellowship atmosphere check out Mid East Sports at (www.mesportsonline.com) for more information and to check out a game near you.
